Teaching Resources
dear brother,
I read in Qur’an and some book told me that a Muslim man allowed to marry non islam woman (Ahlul kitab). If it really allowed, suppose woman keep on her faith, how to rise children according Islam?
Thank you very much.
Wahyu
Salamun alaikum Wahyu,
Welcome to my online home. Allah bless you always. Yes, it does indeed say in the Quran that a Muslim man may marry a woman from the Ahl al-Kitab. Islamic teaching, moreover, holds that she doesn’t have to convert either (unless she freely chooses to). Any children should be raised as Muslims, so our tradition teaches. If you are considering such a thing, the best thing to do is to talk this matter through seriously with your intended.
