  1. The quality of a Qawwal is not the words he utters or the music he plays, but the state he induces. Both these qawwals do more than justice to the kalaam. Through these, may we reach our innermost silence….

  2. al-salamu alaikum Abdul Rahim,

Welcome to my online home, and thank you for your comments. Allah! You’re right. May we all reach our innermost silence.

    Allah bless you always

  3. as-salamu ‘alaykum,

Might I suggest that one of the finest qawalis that Nusrat has ever sung is “Tum Ek Gorakh Dandha Ho” this qawali is the perfect synthesis of sound and kalam (in my humble opinion). The other is Sare Nabiyon da Nabi:

But there are so many to choose from. I would also like to bring to your attention and to that of your readers my tribute blog piece on the 10th death anniversary of Nusrat which I hope you and other fans of Nusrat will find interesting and appreciate.

  4. wa alaikum salam Masud,

Thank you for your recommendations. Tum Ek Gorakh Dandha Ho is indeed a fine qawwal. Sare Nabiyan da Nabi is also one of my personal favourites too. Thank you also for the link to your article. Allah! I liked the ‘dama dum bus conductor’. My son said something very similar himself….
