Your Remedy is Within You

Peace, one and all…

Ali (may God ennoble his countenance) said:

‘Your remedy is within you, but you do not sense it. Your sickness is from you, but you do not perceive it. You presume you are a small entity, but within you is enfolded the entire Universe. You are indeed the Evident Book, by whose alphabet the Hidden becomes Manifest. Therefore you have no need to look beyond yourself. What you seek is within you, if only you reflect’.

  1. Abdur, please keep the information coming. Your site is such a blessing, and it is so true, it is within. Since reading about the beautiful Sirius star, I started reading more about the cosmos, the Orion Belt, Star of Bethlehem, etc., etc., and I think you have started me on a homework assignment that might last the next couple of months…thank you so much again (and sorry for posting so much, but I love everything you write about, and the more I read, the more I want to know, and more, and more, and more…..

Blessings, Barbara (hug for the new mommy)

  2. Salaams Barbara,

The stars of heaven’s vault are beautiful indeed. Praise be to God, Who maketh it so!

Well, if it’s homework, then we’ll have to see the results! 😉

Seriously Barbara, have you ever thought of having your own blog? You have much to share that would add to the world’s beauty.

My wife (Irum) sends her salaams. Sakinah, Yusaf and Layla send their salaams too.

    Ma’as salama,
    Abdur Rahman

  3. I like the simplicity of this…

Often it is such simple in-sights summarised as such, that are the most profound. (Is this one of your writings?)

  4. Peace Crowmanic,

Welcome to my cyber-home. Make yourself comfortable.

No, this isn’t one of my writings. It’s a statement attributed to Imam Ali, Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) cousin and nephew. In the Islamic tradition, Ali is particularly associated with more esoteric, inner knowledge.

I agree. Occam’s razor, it seems, works as well here as in other matters! 🙂

    Peace
    Abdur Rahman

  5. Reference to this quote. ? I see it attributed to Ali Ibn e Abi Talib, but can’t find the reference.

“Your remedy is within you, but you do not sense it. Your sickness is from you, but you do not perceive it. You presume you’re a small entity, but within you is enfolded the entire universe. You are indeed the evident book by whose alphabet the hidden becomes manifest. Therefore you have no need to look beyond yourself. What you seek is within you, if only you reflect.”
