Peace, one and all…

Shaykh Kabir spoke truly when he said: ‘Even if God does not, in fact, exist, this is still a beautiful way to live’. What a profound and truly liberating thought that is! Even if there is no God, even if all my beliefs are in vain, this path I struggle upon is still both worthy and true! Even if the Beloved is naught but a psychological abstraction, a distillation of all my hopes for life and all my fears of death, then the Beloved is no less real and thus, no less inspiring!

That Grey-Handed Angel

Peace, one and all…

Is spirituality merely an obsession with death? Is this path merely my attempt to come to terms with the inevitability of death, that grey-handed angel?

Maybe no. Maybe yes! Death and life are two sides of the same coin. One cannot exist without the other. So, to learn of death is to learn of life; and to learn of life is to learn that one day it will come to an end.
