Salaam Abdur,
I am deeply honored you chose to link to me, and very glad you enjoyed my post on artists.
I came across that article by Hamza Yusuf some time ago, and I think it brings out a lot of important points. The violence surrounding the “teddy bear incident” is very disproportionate (and certainly not representative of the vast majority of Muslims!), and that alone suggests that there are other underlying causes for it.
On a somewhat lighter note, I also came across this website: Muslim Teddy Bears thanks to Amina. I think the site has a very positive and beautiful message. If only the media would focus on that sort of reaction!

Salaams once again Baekho,
Your post was written very beautifully, ma sha Allah. You’re right of course, this issue was regrettable in all sorts of ways.
Thank you for the link. Insha Allah, I’ll post it soon. I looked at the site briefly. Great stuff.
