Peace, one and all…
Rain Gives Way to Light
Beyond all those narrow views of myself
lies a world
broad and free and beautiful.
Beyond all the wearinesses of flesh
stand tree-laden hills,
of wide and verdant expanse.
Beyond these hands of mine
clouds of rain
and deeds of mercy await.
Beloved, when I look at myself I cannot see,
but when I look to You
rain gives way to light.

a lovely description.
Since we are in the position to not be pulled continuously towards the earth because of dealing with constant injustice, as occurs in many other parts of the world, there’s even more reason to not get caught up in the ‘narrow views’.

Salaams Artemis,
Thank you. Allah bless you always.
I’d not thought of it quite like that before, but yes…you’re right. By narrowness, I mean all that keeps us away from being our true selves – anger, fear, lust, greed, and so on.
Ya Allah! Save us from ourselves!
